Cabin Fever

Dear Elijah,

The holidays are over and now we are stuck in the hard part of winter. It's cold and we are trying not to spend money. It's not a great combination. You are back at school and are loving it! When I pick you up you have tons of stuff to say.

Last week you and Sara started lessons at the YMCA - Sara is taking swimming and you are doing two classes: swimming and kick ball. For the first time in your life you don't have to have me in the class. You have a swimming teacher and a kick ball teacher. At first you wanted me to come - but then you were okay with it. You can adapt pretty easily. You loved the classes and can't wait till next Tuesday to go again.

Recently I've been working with you to learn your numbers and letters. You are now able to reconize your name and spell it. Writing your name is still going to be a challenge - but we are working at it. You get frustrated easily if it doesn't look perfect. Hmmmm, I wonder where you get that from? :) You talk about numbers all the time. Mom and Dad have a clock in their bedroom that projects on to the ceiling, you climb into bed with us in the morning and we talk about the numbers for what sometimes seems like an eternity. Currently your favourite number is 5. I'm sure that will change soon.

Eli, you and your sister are the love of my life. You two make me smile every day!

Love,
Mommy
xoxo

Dear Elijah, I can relate. It is cold and rainy in my parts and I'm stuck inside too trying to not spend money.
